Questions

Before you apply

Is this employed or self employed

Self employed. You invoice us, we pay weekly by self bill. You handle your own tax and National Insurance. We are not offering an employed contract and we will not pretend otherwise.

How many drops and what time do I start

Around 30 drops on a typical day. Some routes are multi drop, some are not. The first wave leaves at 5am, and there are later waves depending on the route.

What comes out of the day rate

The day rate is what we pay you before your own costs. If you rent a van from us, the weekly rental and your fuel come out of what you earn. If you use your own van, you keep the full rate and cover your own fuel, insurance, servicing and tax. We go through the real numbers for your situation on the call.

Do I need my own van

No. We rent long wheelbase vans to drivers from 21 years old. If you already have an LWB with courier and goods in transit cover, bring it and pay no rental.

What does the van rental include

Insurance is included, and the van is maintained and under 4 years old, so you are not paying for repairs on top. Fuel is yours. We give you the exact weekly figure on the call.

How and when do I get paid

Weekly, by self bill. We raise the invoice from the work recorded, so you do not have to chase paperwork.

What areas do you cover

Southampton, Portsmouth and Bournemouth mainly, plus the surrounding areas. Where you run depends on the route and the depot.

What if I have no experience

That is fine. You go out with support on your first run before you take routes on your own, and there is someone on the phone when you need them.

What right to work documents do I need

Whatever proves you can work in the UK on a self employed basis. We check every driver properly before a first run. If you are not sure your status covers self employed work, tell us on the call and we will check it before anything starts.
